Bio:
Muopeni Ngwalo is Manager, Currency Planning and Policy in the Currency Management Department of the Reserve Bank of Malawi.
Muopeni has a 24-year experience within the Reserve Bank of Malawi, six of which are in the Currency Management Department. He joined the Currency Management in 2016, and was part of the core team behind the introduction of the two higher banknote denominations of K2000 and K5000 in December 2016 and February 2022. He is currently involved in various aspects of the cash cycle in the Reserve Bank of Malawi.
Muopeni holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham, England.
